Computers

Hi!  Computers.  Don't you just love them?  Please note a slight hint of sarcasm in my last statement.  So for the month of July - yeah just about the whole month of July our computer was in the shop for repairs.  It was excruciating trying to get any of my work done without the computer.  Well now we'll have to bring the computer in for repairs AGAIN, but this time we're taking it elsewhere!  Sigh.  At this point in time my idea of just buying a whole new computer from Computer Renaissance in Tucson seems to have been VALID - Hello!  It would have been like $399.00 out the door, but it's His computer and it's how he wanted to do it so the only chance I have of selling things on eBay and Etsy for October when people are most likely to want Japanese Bira Bira Kanzashi  for Halloween depends upon how fast we get it back this time!  The computer is nearly non functional right now.

Adult Acne

Hi Everyone! I've done a bit of research, not a whole lot, regarding adult acne. Even us older folks can get acne! So I followed the advice of Goss.

http://www.youtube.com/user/gossmakeupartist#p/search/0/xAv8-6hkYko

Goss is a makeup artist who I found when I viewed someone else's video on another topic.

The difference is I shall tell you what worked for me. It's slightly different than what Goss outlines and you will find that my method costs LESS $$$$. :)

The reason it will cost you less in the long run is you get A LOT OF PRODUCT with the Family Dollar brand and it will last you longer. Store brands are a great find because they oftentimes use the same exact ingredients that major brands may use, but cost a whole lot less than the name brand. You pay for the advertising and marketing involved with the major or name brands - why do this? It's not like money is growing on trees is it?

*Bag of cotton balls
* Clean Towel
* Family Dollar Store brand apricot scrub
* Family Dollar Store brand gentle cleanser
* Family Dollar Store brand astringent
* Family Dollar Store brand acne cream
* Walmart Equate store brand oil free gentle cream/lotion
* Clean Towel

First Off, I use the Family Dollar store brand of Apricot Seed scrub.
1. I clean my hands with hot soap and water.
2. I splash the hot water thoroughly on my face.
3. I apply the Family Dollar Store Brand of Apricot Seed Scrub about a quarter's size worth. I rub it into my hands and then apply it all over my face. I spend several minutes using the granules to scrub my face.
4. Then I wash off the Family Dollar Store Apricot seed scrub completely and thoroughly with warm water and gently pat dry my face with a clean towel.
5. Next I take a cotton ball and squeeze some of the Family Dollar Store astringent on it. I gently use the saturated cotton ball all over my face paying special attention or applying more of the astringent to the breakout or acne bump areas. I try to use as many cotton balls as necessary until my face is thoroughly cleaned. This may take 1 or 2 or it may take more.
6. I try to let the astringent dry a bit on my face.
7. Then I take a small amount of the Family Dollar Store acne treatment cream and rub it in round circles all over my face and especially more product into the acne blemishes or other blemishes. This will kill the acne bacteria.
8. Lastly, I use one or two squirts from the Walmart oil free gentle facial cream at a time and spread it over my face. I try to put more product on dry areas.

Do this twice on the first day once in the morning and once at night or one more time after you exercise vigorously or whatever.

The Next day and days thereafter do the following:

1. Make sure to wash your hands with hot soap and water.
2. I apply the Family Dollar store brand of gentle cleanser to my hands, rub them around and then apply it to my face using a swirling/rubbing motion. I use two squirts from the bottle.
3. I wash the cleanser off my face using warm water and pat gently dry with a clean towel.
4. Next I take a cotton ball and squeeze some of the Family Dollar astringent on it. I gently use the saturated cotton ball all over my face paying special attention or applying more of the astringent to the breakout or acne bump areas. I try to use as many cotton balls until my face is thoroughly cleaned. This may take 1 or 2 or it may take more.
5. I try to let the astringent dry a bit on my face.
6. Then I take a small amount of the Family Dollar Store acne treatment cream and rub it in round circles into the acne blemishes or other blemishes.
7. Lastly, I use one or two squirts from the Walmart oil free gentle facial cream at a time and spread it over my face. I try to put more product on dry areas.

This is what worked for me. You may or may not have similar results I'm just letting you know it worked for me and it may work for you too!

Hope this helps someone to save money and fight blemishes!

Not all of my blemishes are true acne. I have some bumps that come up on my skin due to the many and sundry heart medications I take. Unfortunately, I cannot stop taking any of them or else I would not be here to write this soooo I do the best I can.

I noticed an improvement in my face skin within 1 day! After that I do this routine as sort of a maintenance with every once in awhile using the Family Dollar Store Apricot seed scrub.

Thanks for reading!

Butterick 4790

Hi! I just found someone else's blog about how to fix the many and sundry problems with fitting the Butterick 4790 1950's style "walkaway" dress so that it doesn't look like an apron or worse. :) See below on how to fix this, (what should be), simple pattern!

http://www.edelweisspatterns.com/blog/?p=750

Also I am getting closer to actually using the Lutterloh System. Lack of funds, as usual, plagues me, but progress IS being made. :)

You can find the Lutterloh system on their website at:
http://www.lutterloh.com

where you may also find instructions on how to use the system by watching a short video, many patterns to choose from and they also have an "XL/XXL" Lutterloh system for those of us who are "larger than life" or BBW's. I found that I fit in the regular sized "scale" after I had already purchased the XL/XXL Lutterloh system. Well some things one needs to find out the hard way...

Anyway, I have made some test patterns using the Lutterloh system and if I had had the proper equipment at the time, my patterns would have turned out quite well, as they seemed to fit! This would be the first time any sewing patterns fit me in about 38 years or so.

Hope to post more later. :)

Japanese Kanzashi for sale again

Hi everyone, After thinking about my last posts I decided to 86 them. Sorry about that. I don't think I got any views? Anyway I am once again selling my Japanese Maiko kanzashi on eBay and Etsy.com.

Meanwhile, even though I'm broke, (yeah like who isn't?), I am continuing to work on the sheer "blouse" top Black Dahlia dress. I'm also thinking about some Black Dahlia jewelry.
